Silca Ultimate Tubeless Sealant with FiberFoam

Silca Ultimate Tubeless Sealant harnesses the power of a foaming latex formula combined with chopped carbon fibers for unmatched sealing strength, even at higher pressures. This innovative sealant contains 5% by volume of 6, 9, and 12mm chopped carbon fibers, reclaimed from recycled bicycles, carbon wheels, racecars, and aircraft components. The unique foaming latex formula evenly disperses these lightweight fibers within the sealant as you ride, allowing for a higher fiber content than traditional Kevlar or fiberglass.

At this high fiber concentration, bundles of carbon fiber are carried directly to punctures by the sealant flow. Thousands of micro-bubbles collapse, depositing the high-stiffness carbon fibers over the hole. Much like a beaver dam blocking a stream, this dense dam of fibers seals punctures up to 7.5mm in size—25% larger than conventional sealant technologies.

Once the puncture is sealed, the area is reinforced with carbon fiber, forming a latex bridge that helps prevent future punctures in the same spot, outperforming other additives like cornmeal, glitter, or fiberglass.

This advanced sealing and reinforcement capability also allows Silca’s sealant to contain more anti-freeze agents, ensuring superior performance at low temperatures (sealing 6mm holes at 18°F / -7°C) and extending the lifespan of the sealant (lasting 7-9 months depending on humidity).

Replenishing the Sealant:

• Add replenisher every 90-120 days, depending on temperature and humidity, to keep the sealant fresh (see chart for guidance).
• Replenisher is also ideal for sealing porous tires during the initial installation. Some tire casings, especially lightweight models, may experience sealant weeping through the sidewalls. This can reduce the sealant volume by 30% and accelerate aging. Adding 30-50% of the sealant volume back with the replenisher will ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Note: Tires with extra-light casings, such as those from Rene Herse, Veloflex, and Teravail, may experience significant weeping due to porous sidewalls. In these cases, inject an extra ounce of sealant or replenisher to ensure proper sealing.

Installation Tips:

• Avoid CO2, condensation from compressors, and talc powder during installation, as these can cause hardening of the sealant.
• For best results, use Tensilyzed Polypropylene (TPP) rim tapes like those from Stan's, Joe's, 3M, or Tessa. These opaque tapes, free from printing, offer superior strength and abrasion resistance compared to vinyl-based tapes.

Use it every 90-120 days to refresh Silca’s Ultimate Sealant with Carbon Foam and extend the sealant's lifespan—potentially up to a full year! The replenisher is also effective on its own in temperatures as low as 0°F/-18°C and can be easily injected through the valve stem.

The 4oz bottle comes with an injector cap for easy use, while the 32oz bottle is perfect for refilling your 4oz bottle or using with an injector. A rubber hose is included for smooth, hassle-free injection.

Pro Tip: CO2 can be used temporarily to seat the tire, but for maximum sealant life, release the CO2 and inflate with a floor pump after seating the tire.
